8 people suffocated in New Year's Eve party

 

Bosnia & Herzegovina8 Young men and women suffocate in a small house in Tribistovo village, possibly from CO poisoning during New Year's Eve party.

Local police spokesman Martina Medic said police received an informational call at 10am on January 1 and went to a home in the village of Tribistovo to check, where they found eight people dead.

"The victim was a local resident, four men and four more, aged 18-20. The cause of death was probably asphyxiation, but we are investigating further," said Milan Galic regional police chief.

Top Bosnia and Croatia officials have sent their condolences to the family of the dead.

Bosnian and Croatian media said the eight people were high school and college students, dying from asphyxiation from the generator they used to heat the New Year's Eve party.
